What the Law says
Directors, owners and employers must meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the associated regulations. If you employ more that 5 members of staff you must have a written health and safety policy statement with roles and responsibilities clearly identified.
The penalties you face if you do not comply can be fined up to £20,000 and a prison sentence.
How we can help
Shieldyourself produce comprehensive Health and Safety Policies and procedural documents for businesses large and small across different and varied sectors. Our approach is fresh and simple and we aim to reduce the amount of paperwork that you need to complete on a daily basis. We produce daily compliance diaries which enable you to take a structured, simple and easy approach to health and safety. The diaries can be integrated with our Fire Safety Policy which will remove the need to complete up to 15 different monitoring forms. The businesses that get the greatest benefit from our fresh and innovative approach work with us and build in their own operational procedures into the daily diary.
The daily diary approach keeps all the checks that you are required to make and all the ones that you want to make in a central diary in a simple easy to use format. The diaries include opening and closing checks, weekly checks, monthly checks and audit, monthly review, monthly managers meeting, COSHH sheet, responsible persons record, useful telephone numbers, useful dates and calendar. Businesses integrate operational procedures in the opening and closing checks, weekly check, monthly audit and review.
