What the law says The principles of the Safer Food Better Business legislation came into force on Jan 1st 2006 and help small food businesses to: - Comply with the new food regulations
- Make food safely
- Demonstrate how the food is made safely
- Improve the business e.g. by wasting less food
- Plan and organise food safety within the business.
The Shieldyourself approach Shieldyourself have been instrumental in devising the SFBB directive
and have been responsible for training Safer Food Better Business to
over 1000 businesses across 14 local authorities. The Food Standards Agency awarded funding to 14 Local Authorities in
the North West to provide Safer Food Better Business training. The SFBB is a simple, easy-to-follow toolkit for small catering
businesses to demonstrate they have an effective food safety management
