Food Safety Audit
Preparing for your visit from the local authority Environmental Health Officer, Health and Safety Inspector or supplier who will judge you on what they see on the day can be a daunting and stressful task.
The implications of bad publicity if you fail to perform are greater now that the Food Standards Agency has launched the Food Hygiene Rating System and local authorities use Scores on the Door schemes.

The format of the audit report will clearly identify the area of non-compliance, what action is required and why. Each non-conformance will receive a score, a further deduction will be applied if the non-conformance is likely to result in formal action by an enforcement body and a higher level deduction will be applied if the non-conformance is likely to result in imminent danger or potential prosecution.
There is a colour code that is applied to each action and this directly relates to the deduction or penalty applied to it. Where serious issues arise that are of an immediate concern, Shieldyourself will alert head office on the day of the audit and recommend any suitable course of action that needs to be undertaken.
