CIEH Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work
Who needs a certificate?
All workplaces are required by law to provide adequate and appropriate first-aid equipment, facilities and people so your employees can be given immediate help if they are injured or taken ill at work. First-aid provision needs to be available at all times people are at work.
What will I learn?
- The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- The legal requirements for first aid provision
- The importance of accurate incident reporting
- First aid equipment and its safe use
- The need to minimise the risk of infection
- The importance of assessing an incident
- Undertaking a primary survey
- When and how to call for help
How do I get my certificate?
The course takes one day to complete and at the end of the day, you will be given a practical assessment and required to answer a multiple choice test. In the practical assessment, candidates will be tested on the recovery position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, choking, bleeding and shock. If you pass the test your certificate will be sent out to you in the post.
How much does it cost?

If you have more than 10 candidates to (and a suitable room) you could save money with an in-house course from £799 (+VAT). Each additional candidate is only charged £49 (+VAT) up to a maximum of five additional candidates.

Suggested progression CIEH Level 2 Principles of COSHH
The HSE strongly recommends that all first aiders undertake an annual refresher course, and candidates must re-qualify every three years.
