CIEH Level 1 Awards in Food Safety

Previously this course was referred to as the ‘awareness’ food safety course. The three qualifications have been developed to raise awareness of key food safety issues and to provide employees with an induction to food hygiene, prior to undertaking the Level 2 Award in Food Safety. Who needs a certificate?

Food business operators must ensure that employees are supervised, instructed and trained in food hygiene matters. The CIEH Level 1 Awards in Food Safety provide an ideal solution to staff induction training. The Level 1 awards are also suitable for employees for whom English is a second language or those with special needs.

What will I learn?

Understand the basic requirements of food safety and hygiene
How to keep clean and hygienic;
How to keep work areas clean;
The role an individual plays in reducing contamination;
Identify key food safety issues

How do I get my certificate?

The course takes half a day to complete and at the end of the day, you will be required to answer a multiple choice test. If you pass the test your certificate will be sent out to you in the post.

If you have more than 10 candidates to (and a suitable room) you could save money with an in-house course from £490 (+VAT). Each additional candidate is only charged £39 (+VAT) up to a maximum of five additional candidates.
